Green Mind is about ‘sustainable living’. We will delve into areas where we can make a difference in the world. The classes will mostly be practical work and you will learn a lot about how we can help ensure a green future.
Biodiversity → We will plant flowers, plant eel grass, make houses for insects, talk about climate compensation and climate contributions and other practical activities.
Green food → We will focus on food waste, vegetarian food, seasonal food, visit “Enorm”, prepare food in the kitchen, waste collection and other inspirational food activities. We will cook together and get a lot of inspiration for cooking in our daily lives. We will cook ourselves and taste the different food – and maybe make dishes for your fellow students to taste.
Construction and DIY → Can we upcycle old furniture? We visit the Vejle resource center and we will try upcycling something old into something new.
Clothes → We will visit Spinderihallerne, try out sewing machines, check out “Refashion” in Vejle, create concepts around “clothes swapping”, “repair” and visit thrift stores. We discuss eco-friendly consumption – e.g. trying to follow a simple lifestyle, reusing clothes and other consumables – and other issues concerning clothing, clothes consumption, sustainable clothing and thrift stores. It’s about developing a sense of “nice to have” and need to have in relation to clothes.
There are so many things you can do. I am very interested in biodiversity and sustainability in relation to ‘do-it-yourself’ and construction. I am looking forward to help making a difference with you as a group. E.g. concerning the depletion of oxygen in the fjords, where we will try to improve plant life.
