Sing!

Sing!

The happy hormones are given free play when we envelop the room and each other in the sound of our common voices. And along the way, we really feel that there is truth in the cliché that the sum is greater than the individual parts added together. Here you sharpen your voice and your awareness of how you can use it.

Maybe you love to sing in front of others? Maybe you’d rather hide for a bit? There is room for everyone. The joy of singing is the unifying element and together we create a safe space where we dare to lower the parades and look “stupid” in front of each other. Along the way, we make mistakes and practice, and we learn how to work through possible stage fright or nervousness and learn more about what works and what doesn’t work when you’re on stage.

We train with singing exercises and games, and learn a lot of singing theory and technique, but above all we love the joy and fun of letting the parades fall and singing at the top of our lungs. Last but certainly not least, we perform to great applause from the school’s other students and whoever else we can catch as listeners.

Folk high school and singing

Folk high school and singing are inextricably linked and Singing is the subject where students with a special interest in singing can sharpen their voices even more. Based on the students’ level, we continue to build on their skills. We train with singing exercises and games, touch on the theory behind the singing technique and must first and foremost seek to promote joy and amusement by letting the parades fall and singing at the top of our lungs. Last but certainly not least, we perform for the school’s other students and whoever else we can catch as listeners.

PART OF THE COMMUNITY

Singing in a choir is one of the clearest ways to sense that there is truth in the cliché that the sum can be greater than the individual parts added together. Even untrained singers can have the experience of becoming part of a large, well-singing unit. And this can be transferred directly as a good picture of how it is useful to lift together.
