Jesper Banke

As a boy, I was completely enchanted when I saw the Brazilian Ronaldo play football. My own talent was far from reaching the national team, but I have always had a talent for communicating. And that ability paved my way into the world of sports, which fascinated me so much when I was a boy.

I graduated from the School of Journalism in Aarhus in 2012, and since then I have worked as a sports journalist for Vejle Amts Folkeblad. I’ve seen countless matches, spoken to lots of different athletes in different sports, covered coaching sackings, bankruptcies and terrible results – but also big moments in football and surprising medals in handball.

Now I look forward to sharing my experiences and thoughts with you. I’m looking forward to telling you about a world that has changed with lightning speed in recent years – and that continues to do so. My hope is that I can ignite a spark in you so that you might want to become part of the wonderful world of sports journalism.
